This table, from a 2013 Dollar Thrifty “Incentive Compensation Plan” contained in court filings, shows how employee commissions are tied to sales of products such as vehicle upgrades, loss damage waivers, and supplemental liability insurance. Each rental car location is assigned a sales target for the month. Rental sales agents would have to hit 75 percent of the target, for example, in order to earn a 2 percent commission on what they sold for the month.
