New 6-Month I Bond Rates - Estimated May 1 Announcements

I bond rates are paid for six-month periods, starting with the month you purchased the bond.

*The Treasury's formula is more complex than the calculation we've used here, which could result in their published rate differing very slightly from our estimate. **Each I bond will start this new rate between May 1 and Oct. 1, 2025. See our chart below to determine which month your particular I bond will see its rate adjusted.
