Abolishing the tax on inherited wealth, as many Republicans have advocated for years, would reduce federal revenue by a total of nearly $270 billion within a decade, according to a bipartisan congressional committee.
Estimates are from 2015, and assessed the impact of a bill that would have ended the estate tax.
