Multnomah County: Homeless services tax spending

Multnomah County spent $173 million of its regional homeless services tax revenue on programming to prevent or end homelessness in the last fiscal year. That figure does not include overhead or capital spending. About 50% went to shelter and outreach, while 47% went to various forms of rent assistance and 3% went to eviction prevention. Multnomah County also provided homeless services with money from the state and federal government, its own general fund and the city of Portland.
