NFL viewership is down 10% through the first quarter of this season, but the league’s position as a top television property is as strong as ever. NFL games consistently are the most-watched programs on TV. News viewing is up significantly, but news networks do not provide an environment where many advertisers want to market their wares. Every NFL network’s position, arguably, is stronger than it’s ever been.

# The NFL moved Patriots-Chiefs from CBS’s Sunday national window on Oct. 4 to Monday, leaving Bills-Raiders as the high coverage game for CBS. That meant Patriots-Chiefs on CBS competed with ESPN’s Eagles-49ers on Monday night.
