Climate, land and wildlife strategies to mitigate future health crises
In May 2021, dozens of experts scored pandemic preparation strategies by priority and feasibility on a 1-to-5 scale. Dots show the average scores for each.
This chart plots the average priority score and average feasibility score for various pandemic preparedness strategies related to climate, land and wildlife. The scores are from a survey of experts who ranked each strategy on a scale of 1 to 5. For every strategy, priority received a higher score than feasibility, but to varying degrees. For example, attaining global net-zero emissions by 2050 received a priority score of 4.5 out of 5, and a feasibility score of 3 out of 5; holding countries accountable for not protecting ecosystems received a priority score of 3.6 and a feasibility score of 2.3.
