Disproportionate impact of magnet transportation cuts

Magnet cuts are having a disproportionate impact on Black students, Latino students, low-income students and multilingual students. That means those groups account for larger share of students leaving magnets, relative to their share of the total magnet population.

This is based on the intent to stay or leave survey magnet and traditional school families were asked to complete by May 22. About 14% of families did not respond, and 80% said they planned to stay. About 5% said they planned to transfer.
