Note: Self-reported estimates of remediation rates are substantially lower than transcript-based estimates such as those available in the Beginning Postsecondary Student database, note that these self-reports are lower than transcript-based estimates since they are not cumulative over students’ entire period of study, and because students don’t always know which courses are remedial. Unfortunately, transcript-based measures are not currently available to track for different cohorts over time. The trends are still informative as long as under-reporting is relatively stable over time.
