The States Where SUVs and Pickups Are Most Likely to Be in Deadly Crashes

Figures combine SUVs and pickup trucks into a single category. A crash is counted once if it involved at least one SUV or pickup, even if more than one was involved. Deaths include everyone killed in those crashes, including occupants of other vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists. Rates are per 100,000 residents based on 2024 population estimates.
