States Recording the Highest Fatal Fixed Object Collisions by Object Type Between the Years 2020 and 2024

The table below highlights the states that recorded the highest number of fatal crashes involving three of the most commonly struck roadside hazards: standing trees, curbs, and roadside ditches. While Texas led the nation in fatal tree collisions, California recorded the highest number of fatal curb crashes, and the Carolinas ranked highest for deadly ditch-related collisions.
