Over 5,000 criminals deported from UK
In the twelve months to June, 5,265 foreign national offenders were returned from the UK, amid a crackdown on prisons. Half of these were EU nationals, data shows.
Foreign national offenders are non-British citizens who have been convicted of a criminal offence in the UK or abroad.
