Hawaii, North Carolina, North Dakota, and West Virginia are omitted from the figure because 2019 death counts were higher than 2020 death counts for the given period.  COVID-19 numbers are for deaths categorized as “COVID-19 (U071, Multiple Cause of Death)” and are provisional numbers for weeks 13 to 32.
