New York is home to the Congressional district with the second-highest rate of Medicaid reliance in the nation

The state also houses six districts where more than one-quarter of residents are only covered by Medicaid.

Medicaid coverage rates were calculated by adding estimates for health insurance coverage by age for each group of people under age 65. Estimates are based on people who receive only Medicaid coverage, not Medicaid in combination with a different type of insurance.
