Truck drivers are older than U.S. workers in general

In 2021, there were about 3.5 million truck drivers, which is 2% of the overall American workforce of 152.5 million people. There were more truck drivers over the age of 35 compared to overall workers.

The official occupation category for truck drivers was titled "driver/sales workers and truck drivers" from the Current Population Survey.
