The Economic Impact of COVID-19

The chart below shows the annualized drop in gross domestic product for New Jersey during Q2. StratoDem Analytics points out that a 30% drop does not mean 30% of the economy disappeared, but rather, that's how much would be lost if the current figures were sustained over a full year.

The U.S. as a whole saw a 32.9% drop, while New Jersey experienced a 34.6% statewide loss.  

NOTE: Data for Cape May and Salem Counties was not available.
