Chinatown improvement plans

A $5.3 million contract was awarded by the Fresno City Council on Dec. 7, 2023, for installation of streetlights, planting new trees, and rebuilding a portion of China Alley in Fresno's Chinatown district.

The work funded by a state Transformative Climate Communities grant includes streetlights on F Street between Fresno and Ventura streets and on Mariposa and Kern streets between E and G streets; tree planting on F Street between Fresno and Mariposa streets; and reconstructing China Alley between Kern and Inyo streets.
