Where firefighters dropped retardant during Hermits Peak-Calf Canyon Fire

An independent geologic study published in October found levels of arsenic, uranium and antimony at rates exceeding Environmental Protection Agency limits.

To illustrate, the map below depicts levels of antimony detected in wells this summer. Two years prior, the potentially dangerous metal linked to fire suppressants was detected in only a handful of wells, and only at safe levels.

See the map below of where the United States Forest Service says firefighters dropped fire retardant, along with approximate locations of the tested wells.
