A year-by-year look at MNPS falling behind state averages for 3rd-8th graders' proficiency in all subjects

The percent of MNPS students meeting or exceeding expectations in end-of-year exams has been below the state average for all core subjects in 3rd-8th graders for years.

While MNPS continued to score below the state average in 2026, student proficiency did show modest gains year-over-year.
