Fresno County jail transfers to ICE climb to a five-year high

A new annual report from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office shows that the number of individuals transferred from its custody to that of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reached a five-year high in 2024.

California’s TRUTH Act requires an annual public forum in which local law enforcement agencies provide data regarding communication and interactions with ICE. 2024 is the latest year for which data is available.
