The accumulation of ghost guns in Las Vegas
According to department records, Las Vegas police began tracking seizures of unserialized handguns – commonly known as ghost guns – in 2020. By October 2023, the department had seized more than 1,100 of the weapons.

The number begins to increase as summer arrives, and the department begins to track ghost guns starting July 1, 2020. The steady increase in ghost gun seizures continues, and through October 2023, the cumulative total has passed 1,100.
