The spike on June 15 includes 887 cases in Anderson County diagnosed among TDCJ inmates that had not been previously reported by local health departments. On Sept. 18 those cases removed from Anderson County.
Negative death reports in late July are the result of the DSHS switching to a new reporting method.
The spike over several days in mid-August is attributed to the Texas DSHS clearing a backlog of case data from private labs.
