Not all legislation is equal....

This table shows the circumstances under which assisted dying or assisted suicide is legal in various countries, ordered by the year in the practice was initially legalised.

*In Portugal the Parliament passed a law to legalize euthanasia in 2023 and it was signed by President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, but it hasn't been written into the country's official journal yet, so it's not in effect.
