Job levels now compared to March 2008
At the end of 2023, Connecticut had an estimated 1.70 million payroll jobs. The total was lower than in March 2008, when the state reached its all-time peak of 1.72 million jobs. As of December 2023, Connecticut, West Virginia, Wyoming and Vermont were the only states that had fewer jobs than they did in March 2008.
