Manheim Township officials are considering a red-light camera program to decrease crashes at problematic intersections. The three most dangerous intersections in the township are being looked at first, including Route 501 (Lititz Pike) and Chester Road, which is the most dangerous intersection in the county. This spot saw 74 crashes between 2020 and 2025, all of which occurred because of red-light violations. There were 22 red-light-violation crashes at Route 272 (Oregon Pike) and Chester Road during that time, and 18 at the Route 501 (Lititz Pike) and York Road intersection.
