MARRIAGES RATES BY STATE IN 2024

This table ranks U.S. states and the District of Columbia by their ACS-based estimated average annual marriages per 1,000 residents in 2024. Rates range from a high of 9.6 to a low of 4.7. States with identical rates share the same rank within this category only.

Note: Estimates are based on American Community Survey (ACS) data. Marriage incidence was calculated by dividing the estimated number of marriages in 2024 by each state’s total population and multiplying by 1,000.
