AA Degree-Seeking Students’ Perceptions Regarding Attainment of Humanities Discipline-Level Competencies
This grouped bar chart displays AA degree-seeking students' perceptions of their attainment of Humanities discipline-level competencies across four outcomes (H-1 through H-4) for academic years 2022-23 and 2023-24, measured on a 5-point scale where 5 = very much and 1 = none.
Student perceptions remain consistently high across both years and all four competencies, ranging from 4.11 to 4.19 on the 5-point scale. Year-over-year changes show mixed patterns: H-1 decreases slightly from 4.16 to 4.15, H-2 declines from 4.15 to 4.13, H-3 improves from 4.11 to 4.17, and H-4 decreases from 4.19 to 4.12. H-3 shows the most notable improvement (0.06 points), while H-4 demonstrates the largest decline (0.07 points) despite having the highest rating in 2022-23. The tight clustering of all ratings within a 0.08-point range indicates stable and strong student confidence in achieving Humanities competencies across all outcomes. This measure was discontinued in 2024-25 due to the college's transition to new survey software.
