A series of slope charts showing U.S. maternal mortality rates by race and ethnicity, 2022-2023. Black women have by far the highest rate and were the only group with an increased mortality rate, going from 49.5 deaths per 100k lives in 2022 to 50.3 in 2023. White, Hispanic and Asian women all had much lower rates and showed slight decreases, ranging from 14.5 for white women to 10.7 for Asian women.
