Notes: These data are drawn from census designated places, which are defined as a concentration of population which has a name, is locally recognized, and is not part of any other place. Low-income communities are defined as those where the share of residents living under the federal poverty level is 25 percent or above. Communities of color are places. Low that are over 50 percent Black and/or Hispanic. Rural communities are defined as those where the census defines 100 percent of the population as rural. These differences are statistically significant using two-tailed t-tests of means.
