The Girl-Friendliness Index (GFI) measures the performance of governments in realising the rights and wellbeing of girls. Influenced by the three pillars that underpin the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC): girls’ rights to Protection, Provision and Participation the GFI is a uses more than 23 indicators relating to the various aspects of girls’ rights and wellbeing to produce a score between 0 and 1.
