The user information collected is only that which is directly relevant and necessary for the service.
Overall, the manufacturer of the baby monitor does a good job of keeping the amount of information collected to a minimum. However, there are a few pieces of information that the privacy policy says may be collected about the operation of the camera itself—such as the wireless network name, the temperature at the location of the monitor, and the status of motion detectors—the collection of which does not appear to be connected to the functionality of the service.
While the bulk of the information collected by the baby monitor is documented as related to the functioning of the product, without an explanation for the purpose of collection for these other types of data, the baby monitor does not get a full pass on this indicator.
⚠️
Product still works when all permissions not relevant to product's functionality are declined.
All collection can be avoided by the user by refusing to use the mobile app, however recording of video and still photos would not be possible.
