An arrow chart showing the change in the share of renters who are 65 or older in U.S. metro areas. Nationwide, the share increased from about 10% in 2013 to 13% in 2023. Every metro area but two (McAllen, Texas, and Allentown, Pa.) increased. New Orleans increased the most, from 8% to 16%. In Denver, the share increased from 8.4% to 10%.
