Austin ISD reported a sharp uptick in high school students failing at least one course during the 2020-21 school year. The percentage of students failing in the first semester increased to 32.7% compared to 26.5% in 2019-20 school year and more than doubled to 34.8% in the second semester compared to 15.2% last year.
