SCDC reports expenses from litigation to the South Carolina Insurance Reserve Fund. Since Fiscal Year 2015, the department has faced more than 600 law enforcement-related lawsuits.
Data spans from the first quarter of FY 15 to the first quarter of FY 19. Data does not include non-law enforcement related incidents, like libel suits, premises liability and medical cases.
