Most CalFresh participants experiencing homelessness face time limits

NOTES: Estimates from the SNAP QC are adjusted to reflect the total caseload size from the CalFresh Data Dashboard as of the first quarter of SFY 2025-26. Experiencing homelessness is determined using the HOMEDED “indicator of homelessness” variable in the SNAP QC. Meeting or excused from time limits determined using a combination of earnings, hours, unemployment insurance benefits, employment and training participation, and work registration variables. We classify adults with children under age 14, or who are flagged as having a disability, or who have income from the CalWORKs program as not affected by time limits.
