Half-mile radius from potential future Downtown Los Angeles HSR station (Union Station)

Los Angeles Union Station is planned to function as downtown's High-Speed Rail station in the future. A half-mile radius from the perimeter of the Union Station area stretches past City Hall.

The California High-Speed Rail Authority wants to control zoning and land-use within a one-half mile radius of its stations. The details of how this policy would work are not yet clear, but the agency has said it wants to capture the increase in sales and property tax revenues generated by the arrival of high-speed rail stations in an area.
