When major events are included, in some years low-renewable states experienced longer duration outages than higher-renewable states

Shown are the average duration of outages (hours per year weighted based on utility customer count), including major event days, in each state versus that state's annual percentage of renewable generation on an energy basis. Data is binned into three categories according to their 2024 renewable generation percentage, low (<10%), medium (10-35%), and high (>35%).
