Tesla Motors has sold nearly 125,000 cars since the first Roadster was delivered in 2008. Roughly 5,100 Roadsters and Model S cars were sold through 2012. In order to meet its minimum sales target, Tesla needs to deliver an average of 20,000 cars per quarter this year. The company is expected to have delivered around 16,000 units in Q1. Tesla will announce the confirmed figure in the coming days.
