Half-mile radius from planned site of S.F. HSR station (Salesforce Transit Center)

The San Francisco High-Speed Rail station is planned to be built in the basement of the Salesforce Transit Center. A half-mile radius from the center's perimeter is just shy of Chinatown. 

The California High-Speed Rail Authority wants to control zoning and land-use within a one-half mile radius of its stations. The details of how this policy would work are not yet clear, but the agency has said it wants to capture the increase in sales and property tax revenues generated by the arrival of high-speed rail stations in an area.
