White-nose syndrome has spread to bats across the US
White-nose syndrome, caused by the fungus Pseudogymnoascus destructans, began appearing in bats in the early 2000s in the U.S. Northeast and mid-Atlantic regions. It has since been reported as confirmed or suspected in counties across the U.S.
