NYPA peaker output increased after Indian Point closed

After the Indian Point nuclear power plant's two units closed, in 2020 and 2021, the New York Power Authority's peakers in New York City have run more often to support the city's electrical needs, with one exception. The three peakers in the Bronx and in Queens increased their average monthly output the most.

*Kent and Pouch plants have only a single generator, not two. Hourly gross load data spans ten year period from April 2015 to March 2025, except for Joseph J. Seymour which only has data through November 2024. IP comparison is between period before Unit 2 shutdown (EOD 2020-04-30) and period after Unit 3 shutdown (EOD 2021-04-30).
