The median age of candidates across parties is 60, whereas the median age of the US population is 39.4 — much younger.

Each square represents one of the 72 major-party or viable candidates running for the Senate, along with the 65 senators not up for election. Alaska only includes Mary Peltola and Dan Sullivan. Age refers to the age a candidate or senator is estimated to be by January 2027. The position of independent candidates is based on the party of their opposing candidate.
