State agencies in North Carolina see reductions in State Fiscal Recovery Funds

These funds were ordered returned in Senate Bill 357 to the State Fiscal Recovery Fund in June to be re-allocated because they were not likely to be obligated by the Dec. 31, 2024, deadline.

Roughly $830 million was ordered returned to the State Fiscal Recovery Fund because it was not obligated or expended as the December 2024 deadline approaches.
The $800 million reduction to water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure grants was replaced by $800 million in General Fund dollars.
