Insecurity, climate change sensitivity, and energy access in the context of UN peacekeeping operations

Average levels of insecurity, climate change sensitivity,¹ and access to electricity from 2018-2020 among countries with active UN peacekeeping operations.² The Index Score reflects the overall severity of each of these three measures on a scale of 0-100. Increased climate change sensitivity, increased insecurity, and decreased electricity access will all contribute to a higher Index Score.

¹ Climate change sensitivity data are based on the ND-GAIN Index, which includes information for South Sudan as part of its information for Sudan. As such, the climate change data for Sudan and South Sudan shown here reflect the combined sensitivity of both countries.
² Due to limited data availability, not all countries with UN peacekeeping operations are represented.
