Pediatric Poisoning Fatalities Among Children Under 5 (2019–2023)

This chart shows the number of fatal pediatric poisonings among children under 5 reported from 2019 to 2023 in the U.S. There were a total of 323 cases, with 2022 having the highest count at 97, followed closely by 2023 with 90.

Although total deaths involving unintentional pediatric poisonings decreased from 97 in 2022 to 90 in 2023, the last three years have seen deaths increase to levels not seen since 1991.
