For every 3 dBA increase, the maximum recommended exposure time is cut in half

Exposure to loud noise for longer than the recommended time increases the risk of hearing loss. To put these numbers in perspective, normal conversation is around 60-70 dBA, busy traffic around 80–85 dBA, a lawn mower can range from 80-100 dBA and sporting events or concerts can reach 94–110 dBA.
