How helping buy Golden Gate Fields would impact Proposition 4 funds

Governor Gavin Newsom's May budget revision included a request for $125 million from four different pots of money in Proposition 4, the $10 billion climate bond approved by voters, to help purchase the site of Golden Gate Fields and turn it into a shoreline park. Local conservationists are concerned this takes away money from other planned projects.

Numbers are in millions. Remaining balance before Golden Gate Fields is drawn from the LAO analysis of the Governor's initial budget proposal. The allocations of the Golden Gate Fields project is drawn from the Governor's May budget revision. California's state budget will be finalized by June 15.
