A table showing the change in the share of U.S. workers who are women, 1982-2022. The representation of women across all occupations increased from 44% in 1982 to 47% in 2022. The occupation that saw the largest was business operations, with an 18 percentage point increase (38% to 56%). It was followed by legal, social, arts, and media (16 percentage points) and management (14 percentage points). Food prep and serving had the largest decrease in the share of women, at 12 percentage points.
