The vast majority of the African community are employed as wage earners in the private sector, a minority are self-employed, and, overall, they have a marginal presence in the public sector. As for entrepreneurship, the data once again reveal a key difference between Moroccans and Sub-Saharans: 11% of Moroccans are employed as self-employed workers or business owners, compared with 4% of Sub-Saharans. A quarter of Moroccans working in the retail sector are self-employed (25%), and a further 8% are business owners with employees.
