NOTE: Where a state provided different contribution percentages for different dependent arrangements (for example, employee + children or employee + spouse/1 child or family coverage), we took the average of these numbers. Where a state had different contribution percentages for different types of plans, we took the average of the numbers. Where a state provided a range, we took the midpoint of the range.

States may partially fund their SEHP program and premium contributions through federal grants and other revenue sources.

All the information presented in these maps was submitted in response to our survey between October 17, 2022 and December 16, 2022 by representatives of state agencies administering state employee health plans. We did not receive a survey response from New Jersey.
