The homestead exemption in Central Florida

The property tax cuts proposed by Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state legislature will affect Central Florida municipalities differently depending on how much of their tax base comes from primary residences, or homesteads. It increases the homestead tax exemption from $50,000 currently to $250,000 in two years, but school taxes are not affected.
